Submission Guidelines for Social Sciences Manuscripts
According to the "Instructions for Authors" and "Submission Guidelines" for the social sciences category of this journal, all manuscripts must adhere to the following regulations:
I. Manuscript Preparation
1. Abstract and Keywords
  • Chinese abstract: Must be within 500 characters.
  • English abstract: Must be within 250 words. The format should be Times New Roman, 12-point font, and double-spaced.
  • Both the Chinese and English abstracts must be accompanied by 3 to 5 keywords.
  • The abstract should be written as a single paragraph.
2. Manuscript Format and Page Setup
  • The font for Chinese text should be MingLiU at a 12-point size; for English text, use Times New Roman at a 12-point size.
  • Line spacing for Chinese text should be set to 1.5 lines; English text must be double-spaced.
  • Use A4 or letter-sized paper with portrait orientation.
  • Page numbers must be included on every page.
  • When submitting your manuscript, please use the Chinese or English template. Once completed, please send it to the journal's editorial office.

3. Information to be Included on the Title Page
  • The title of the article in both Chinese and English.
  • The name(s) and institutional affiliation(s) of the author(s) in both Chinese and English (this should include secondary units, such as departments or centers).
  • The corresponding author's name, address, email, and phone number.
  • The date of submission, word count, running head, and acknowledgments (if any).
4. Self-Check / Pre-Submission Checklist
  • Articles in this social sciences category must follow the latest edition of the American Psychological Association (APA) style. Citation and reference formats must be consistent. Chinese-language references must be accompanied by an English translation. Ensure that the formatting for statistical symbols is correct, especially the use of italics.
  • Tables and figures must be labeled with Arabic numerals (e.g., Table 1, Figure 2).
  • It is recommended that manuscripts be converted to Microsoft Word format before submission. Submissions with incomplete information on the title page or an excessive number of formatting errors will be returned.
5. Review and Acceptance
  • Upon submission, manuscripts will undergo an initial format review. If the format does not comply with the submission guidelines, the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision and resubmission.
  • Following acceptance, there may be further processes such as revisions or re-review.
6. Publication Fee
  • If a manuscript is accepted for publication, a "publication fee" of NT$2,000 will be charged.

Submission Guidelines for Humanities Manuscripts
I. Manuscript Preparation
  1. Language and Abstracts: Manuscripts in Chinese should be written in Traditional Chinese characters. Manuscripts in English must be accompanied by a Chinese abstract and keywords. All submissions must include: a title in both Chinese and English, abstracts in both Chinese and English (up to 500 words each), and 3 to 5 keywords in both Chinese and English.
  2. Manuscript Length: The total length of the manuscript should be between 12,000 and 20,000 words. This word count includes the abstracts (both Chinese and English), main text, notes, figures, tables, and bibliography. Appendices are excluded from this count.
  3. Layout and Font: The manuscript should be in a single-column format. For the main text, please use a standard Traditional Chinese font (e.g., PMingLiU) for Chinese and Times New Roman for English letters and numbers. The font size for the main text should be 12 pt, and for notes, 10 pt.
  4. Section Headings:
    • For Chinese manuscripts, the order of section and subsection headings is as follows: 壹、, 一、, (一), 1., (1), a., (a).
    • For English manuscripts, the order is: I., A., (A), 1., (1), a., (a).
    • First-level headings should be centered, while all subsequent levels should be left-aligned.
  5. Footnotes: Use Arabic numerals for footnote markers, placed after punctuation. Footnotes should be in 10-point font and single-spaced. The first citation of a work must be given in full, while subsequent citations may use a shortened form.
  6. Tables and Figures: Table titles should be placed above the table, and figure captions should be placed below the figure. All tables and figures must be numbered sequentially and their titles/captions formatted consistently.

III. Submission and Publication Ethics
  • Manuscripts submitted must not have been previously published, in whole or in part, in any other journal. Simultaneous submission to other journals is not permitted.
  • This journal uses a double-blind peer review process. To facilitate this review, authors must remove any identifying information (such as names and affiliations) from the manuscript file.
  • Authors of accepted manuscripts are required to sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement.
  • Upon acceptance, the journal is authorized to publish the work in its print and electronic editions, including making it publicly available online. Authors retain the right of attribution (moral rights) and the non-exclusive right to use the work for their own teaching or research purposes.
IV. Publication Fee
  • If a manuscript is accepted for publication, a "publication fee" of NT$2,000 will be charged.
